Babylon enables native, self-custodial Bitcoin staking so BTC can help secure PoS chains, L2s, and other systems without wrapping or third-party custody. Babylon Genesis, a Cosmos-based L1 with native token BABY, launched on 10 April 2025 after a testnet and Sherlock bug-bounty period. The protocol is developed by Babylon Labs and has disclosed funding from investors including Paradigm and Polychain. BABY is used for fees, governance, and incentives.
